Project Green

Project Green is doing something awesome - protecting our environment from the nasty waste in all the electronics we throw out each year.

And at Web Industries, we were happy to provide an awesome website to help out! This Drupal 7 site definitely 'Pops' (one of the main requirements), with a clean and minimal Windows 8 Metro-style theme, done entirely with CSS.

Plus, in amongst the standard Drupal Content Management, there's two key features:

• eCommerce - people can either organise for their eWaste to be picked up from their house or business, or buy a pre-paid drop-off voucher though the site. They get to specify what eWaste they have to get rid of, and the system automagically calculates the price.
• GoogleMaps - there's a whole bunch of Drop-off locations, so to display them in a user-friendly way, we used GoogleMaps. When a Drop-off location is created the administrator 'drops a pin' on a map - this allows us to show both a NZ-wide map of all locations, plus show the exact location when viewing the individual location.

We're very happy with how Project Green turned out - it's very sexy, and it was belted out in less than 3 weeks to meet deadline!
